When Kyle and I first started dating, we quickly realized our mutual love of the outdoors. We had both grown up hiking, camping, and backpacking, and it didn’t take much of a discussion to determine that we were going to raise our family in the same way. When Rosalie was nearing her first birthday, we took her car camping for a couple nights. With that successful outing under out belts, the next step was backpacking. Bug spray didn’t make it into our packs, but Rosalie proved to us that she could hike a mile on her own! We were worried that she wouldn’t sleep well because we didn’t have room for another sleeping mat.
