Weekend Adventures in Hershey, Pennsylvania
Over the last semester, Kyle has been in deep with the search for the next step in his career. Among the companies on his list, was The Hershey Company. We were ecstatic when he received a job offer and excited when the company wanted us to come to Hershey to experience if the company and the city would be a good fit for our family. As such, much of our visit to Hershey had Kyle and I attending meet and greets, tours of the city, and company overviews. We were inspired by the founder, Milton Hershey’s, generous nature and the charitable roots of the company.
Meanwhile, Rosalie got to spend quality time with her grandparents! Kyle’s Mom and Dad graciously flew out to help so we could be more attentive to our experience. When we were all able to meet up, we fit in visits to The Hershey Story, Hershey Chocolate World, and Hershey Sweet Lights. Of course, we also enjoyed the many amenities of our hotel, The Hotel Hershey. It was a whirlwind weekend of chocolate!
Though it was a difficult decision, after many pro/con lists were created, and life plans discussed, Kyle and I decided to decline the job offer. We are incredibly grateful to The Hershey Company for bringing us out to experience Hershey. We loved everything we experienced, and would welcome the opportunity to be a part of the company in the future, but ultimately feel like our life is headed in a different direction.
As for where we have chosen to go next, you will just have to wait for that announcement…
